This Was Painted by an Old Friend
Evelyn thought to herself, "No wonder the teacher was dumbfounded."
He himself didn't even know that he would accept such a disciple. A well-behaved disciple, it really would ruin the teacher's reputation.
"Susie was painting!" Evelyn smiled slightly, "What is she painting?"
Evelyn thought she was gentle and approachable, so she moved closer to take a look.
You should know that she never went to help review any paintings, no matter how much money people offered her outside.
So Evelyn subconsciously believed that she had helped critique Susie's artwork, which was Susie's luck.
"The flower is well painted," Evelyn deliberately praised, "Under the sunlight, this half of the flower appears vibrant, with saturated and bright colors..."
This painting doesn't have any particular style or genre, anyway Evelyn thought it looked a bit childish at first glance.
Upon hearing Evelyn praise Susie, Zachariah's face softened a bit, and he was about to say something.
But Evelyn continued, "However, this other half of the flower you painted is too stiff! The lines are not smooth, as if it was drawn by an old man with Parkinson's struggling."
She made this metaphor subconsciously, completely forgetting about Zachariah's current situation, jokingly and thinking she was being humorous.
Zachariah's face immediately turned ugly and unsightly.
Susie looked up in surprise. Wasn't Evelyn the most outstanding disciple of the old friend?
How could I not even recognize my own teacher's painting...
Evelyn smiled and, in order to appear gentle, she also planned to pat Susie's head.
Who knew Susie tilted her head slightly, not allowing her to touch.
Evelyn felt a bit embarrassed and scolded, "You, child, why are you so petty? Getting angry just because I said your drawing is not good!"
"Your painting has its strengths but also its weaknesses, you know? To improve constantly, one must be brave enough to accept one's shortcomings as a person."
"You see, there are too many colors here, all messy. Nowadays, the aesthetic abroad is all about being more sophisticated. Having too many colors just doesn't look sophisticated."
"Although the lighting treatment was somewhat immature, it was still done fairly well. However, this half-blossomed flower in the dark area is the biggest flaw in the entire painting, it was really poorly done... Shall I make some changes for you?"
Evelyn picked up the pen directly, and no matter how many people outside wanted to ask her for help, they couldn't reach her. Naturally, she thought it was only right to correct her junior sister's work.
However, Zachariah suddenly spoke in a deep and cold voice, "Evelyn!"
Whose idea was it to change the painting that he and Susie had drawn together?
Evelyn was startled, and the watercolor on her paintbrush dripped down, landing right in the center of the flower, instantly ruining the entire painting.
Zachariah looked at the canvas, his face growing darker.
Evelyn opened her mouth and said, "Teacher, what's wrong with you... suddenly so fierce... I really didn't mean it."
Just a broken painting, it was destroyed, that's it. She can easily draw a few strokes that are worth more than this.
Is it necessary to get so angry?
But Susie looked up and said, "Evelyn, the half flower you mentioned was actually painted by an old friend..."
Evelyn was instantly shocked, her heart raced for a moment, and she quickly said, "Ah... teacher, I didn't mean that, I... I really didn't know, I..."
She was almost annoyed to death in her heart, and even secretly blamed Susie for not telling her earlier!
Zachariah had lost interest and waved his hand, saying, "What are you here for? I already made it clear to you that day!"
After the welcoming banquet, he immediately sought out Evelyn and bluntly explained: Martin already has a family, so if she continues to be infatuated and disrupt someone else's household, she shouldn't blame him for cutting off ties with her.
Unexpectedly, Evelyn ignored the others and showed no signs of remorse at all. In anger, Zachariah stopped paying attention to her.
Evelyn said with a grievance, "Teacher, you really misunderstood me. I really only had a normal friendship with Mr. Murray..."
The conversation was not finished when suddenly Adrian and an old lady walked into the garden, talking and laughing, followed by Ryan.
The old lady was very elegant and dressed exquisitely.
Time has left its mark on her, but it has also bestowed upon her a more mature and elegant charm. Although her face has aged, one can still faintly see that she was once a great beauty in her youth.
Alana?!
Evelyn was taken aback for a moment, but then she felt overwhelmed by a tremendous surprise.
She also came on a whim today. Her art exhibition ended yesterday, and at the end, it was originally planned for her teacher to make an appearance and show support for her.
I didn't expect the teacher didn't come.
Evelyn felt that the teacher must have misunderstood that day, so she came early this morning to explain.
Never in a million years did I expect to see Alana!
She had just been thinking about finding an opportunity to meet Alana when the opportunity presented itself right in front of her.
What is this if not fate?!
"This is..." Evelyn quickly brushed aside a strand of hair from her ear, looking at Adrian with proper etiquette and gentleness.
Adrian felt that something was not right. He looked at Susie and then at his own father.
Zachariah sneered, "Is this what you call a misunderstanding?"
While speaking about the misunderstanding, I intentionally acted when I saw the other person's mother.
He looked at Evelyn with great disappointment and said, "Evelyn, I raised you to shine and excel, not to use it as a capital to be someone's mistress!"
Zachariah's words were straightforward, without a hint of tact.
Susie quickly added, "No, no! The meaning of 'mistress' is someone who is involved with someone who is already married, right? Uncle Martin has absolutely nothing to do with Evelyn!"
Even if Evelyn was willing to be the mistress, Martin would not be interested in her!
Evelyn's face immediately turned red. Alana was right in front of her, and this old and young duo didn't give her any face at all!
Especially her teacher, was he confused or what?!
