Mom is Hard to Support
The Murray family estate.
Zion was lying on the sofa, bored and staring outside. He looked at the turtle in his hand and said, "So boring..." He turned the turtle over and spun it around on the table.
Alex stood on the staircase railing, flapping his wings and squawking, "Hey! Bald donkey! Grandpa is here! Come catch me if you dare! Haha! Catching a turtle is nothing impressive!"
Zion glanced at the green parrot that had gone rogue.
"It's just because you have wings. I can't catch you."
Zion said, "Otherwise, I would have plucked all your feathers by now!"
Alex squawked and flew outside, "Idiot, I'm a male bird, I'm a male bird!"
Zion sighed.
Wade, who was tinkering with a fishing net, burst out laughing.
"Zion, do you have a problem? You actually want to pluck a bird's feathers."
Zion was furious.
"I said 'plucked,' not 'peeled!'"
Hamza quietly looked up at him and said, "It's rare for you not to be playing games. Are you waiting for Susie?"
After pausing for a moment, he added, "Is it necessary?"
There would always be noise when Susie returned. Was it necessary for them to wait anxiously like this?
Zion was exposed and grunted, "I'm bored in my room. Can't I come out and play with the turtle?"
Hamza chuckled.
Wade retorted, "Aren't you waiting too?"
Hamza didn't even lift his head.
"I've been sitting here reading the whole time. Who's waiting?"
Lucy ran out of the kitchen with a chicken leg in her hand, "Huh? What are you guys talking about? Is Susie back?"
Zion rolled his eyes. "You're almost half-deaf."
Lucy turned around and ran out again. "I calculated it with my fingers, Susie's coming back!"
She learned this phrase from Susie, but of course, Lucy didn't actually calculate anything.
But as soon as she ran across the lawn, several cars drove up outside, and it really was Susie who had returned!
As soon as Susie got out of the car, the first thing she saw was Alex flying towards her, shouting, "Help! There's a thug trying to pluck me!"
Then a chicken leg was shoved into her mouth. "Here, eat it!"
Susie was dumbfounded.
She hadn't even reacted yet when a bird landed on her head and had a chicken leg in its mouth.
Susie instinctively took a bite of the chicken leg and exclaimed, "Wow, it's really delicious!"
Lucy proudly boasted, "Of course, I salted and roasted it!"
Zion pretended to chase Alex and ran out, shouting, "You dead parrot, stop for me... Oh, Susie, you're back!"
Susie asked, "Um, what are you doing, big brother?"
Zion pointed to Alex on her head and said, "I'm trying to catch it."
Susie, Lucy, and Zion began chattering away.
Susie waved her hand and said, "Come on, let's go!" Now the little girl had two more followers, who happened to be her older brother and sister...
The three of them ran towards the main building.
Wade walked out, hands in his pockets, looking very "reserved" and was about to speak when Clara suddenly rushed over, exclaiming, "Ah... home is still the best!"
When she saw Wade, she patted his hair, saying, "Hello there, little Wade!" as she rubbed it.
Then she went through his face and flew inside.
Wade exclaimed, "!!"
Feeling Clara's hands were cold, like mist, and like a knife, he couldn't help but shudder.
Help! My deceased aunt suddenly attacked me!
Mrs. Alana was discharged from the hospital, and the house was full of joy, with the aroma of white-cut chicken everywhere.
"Dinner's ready!" Kellen yelled.
Susie ran to the side and lit incense, placing it in the dirt outside the building, facing the entrance.
Then she and Mrs. Ada brought out the white-cut chicken and placed it on the table, offering it to the ancestors first.
The yard was filled with the smell of white-cut chicken and incense, giving off a festive atmosphere.
Susie regretfully said, "We're missing a string of firecrackers. If we had one more string of firecrackers, it would be perfect!"
Firecrackers only sound like New Year's! Suddenly, a firecracker was thrown and immediately went off with a crackling sound.
Several children were scared and quickly ran away.
Michael laughed heartily, "Uncle Michael is here! Isn't it just setting off firecrackers? Uncle Michael is here to help every cute baby fulfill their dreams!"
Susie was angry and said, "Uncle Michael, you're cheating!"
Michael laughed and lifted Susie onto his shoulders.
At the dinner table, Susie still served herself a bowl of rice and arranged the meat and vegetables neatly.
She then placed her chopsticks on top of the rice and said, "Mom, let's eat!"
She put the rice aside.
Mrs. Alana looked worriedly at Susie.
Was the little girl missing her mom again? But then Michael also started serving dishes into the bowls, saying, "Eat more, eat more!"
Martin suddenly picked out the coriander from the chicken he was serving - Clara didn't like coriander.
Mrs. Alana glared at Martin and Michael.
The children were fooling around, and they were joining in too!
On the side, Clara was eating her meal as if she couldn't hear anything, her attention focused on her food.
The meal was soon finished, and Susie's little face was wrinkled in dissatisfaction.
She quietly checked her wallet and quickly pushed her cold and tasteless food in front of her.
She also pushed her little bowl over and placed her chopsticks on top of the rice.
Clara said, "Hey, there's still some left!"
She quickly finished it all.
Susie was conflicted, nervously counting her fingers.
Her mom would eat a whole chicken for one meal, at least two hundred dollars a day, and that's... in a year, she would be unable to support her mom!
Watching Clara finish all the food that she could have eaten, Susie reluctantly opened her little wallet.
She only had two hundred dollars left in her red envelope.
Some other children only get to eat during festivals or even go without food for a whole year. And her mom... sob, sob, it's so hard to support her...
The adults at the table chatted about something, roughly saying that a friend's father was hospitalized, and they were going to visit him once he was discharged.
Martin said that he would go on behalf of the Murray family, and they didn't need so many people...
Turning to see Susie looking at him eagerly, Martin hesitated for a moment before saying, "Okay." For the sake of little Susie, he didn't stick to his principles at all...
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Mrs. Alana received acupuncture treatment again.
She couldn't tell if it was just her imagination, but she felt that this time the treatment was more painful than the last.
However, Susie assured her that it was normal, and she didn't press the is Diana.
On the fourth day, Susie continued with the acupuncture treatment.
The silver needles shimmered in the sunlight, emitting a faintly chilling light.
Mrs. Alana finally realized she was afraid - her legs had become increasingly useless over the past few days.
She could barely stand before, but now she was confined to her bed, writhing in pain.
Susie seemed to be struggling too, with sweat on her forehead and her face flushed.
"Susie, maybe we should stop if it's not working," said Mrs. Alana.
"What do you mean, stop? Who says I can't do this?" Susie retorted, lifting her head.
Mrs. Alana fell silent.
